overview

Set in WWII-era Philippines, Kanin follows Encar, a young Filipina school teacher, as she sits down to dinner with her family, only to find there’s no rice on her plate. Her brother, a soldier home from the front, insists she doesn’t deserve it. What unfolds is a tightly wound, four-minute showdown over pride, power, and survival. All sparked by a simple question: Where is the rice?

Director

Green is a Filipino-American writer/director based in LA. His love for art started with dance at a young age. He got on America’s Best Dance crew on the very last season and moved to LA to pursue dance. After 5 shoulder dislocations and 2 surgeries, his dance career ended and he started developing his skills as a filmmaker. Currently, he works with his brother, Red, at RG Studios, working on commercial and branded content.
